"God's Fire Is Still Burning"

My name is R. Keith McPhearson, Pastor of the Bridge Church Chicago. The Bridge Church is located in the North Kenwood community. In January 2018, my wife, Lynn and I began a wonderful journey of leading this church plant. Our passion is teaching the Word of God and seeing the Word grow in believers. It is our heart’s desire to bring people to know God through Jesus Christ and help them to grow into fully mature believers. Nothing excites us more than to help others understand the truths in God’s Word. We are currently worshipping in an event center, the historical Room 43. It’s well known for the Sunday night jazz sets, Saturday night parties and other events.

Our mission and vision is to bridge the gap: bridge the gap between man and Jesus, bridge the gap of spiritual growth, bridge the gap between church and community, bridge the gap of differing cultures.  We believe that God has a calling for every person in our community and we are the bridge that God will use. We are not looking to build church members but true disciples who know who they are in Christ and what they believe. We are building a ministry built on the Word, praise, worship and prayer. We also want to help the community in practical ways by doing church in the streets. We started with our first street outreach last September and look to offer future back to school events and needed skills training, such as, job interview skills. We also have a heart to help the homeless and those who society has left behind.

It is our desire to be a voice in our community. We are building on Pentecostal values and we will let the community know that God’s fire is still burning, and He wants them to be on fire for Him.
